Components Engineer, 08-337

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains and provides expertise regarding electronic components
and works with electrical engineers, suppliers, and electronics
manufacturing to maintain AV's product. - Assists design engineers in the selection of parts that best fit
their requirements. - Establishes and maintains a specification system for
off-the-shelf parts. - Generates specifications for all new custom component parts.
- Coordinates failure analysis and corrective activities on
component parts. - Participates in design reviews for the purpose of component
selection and standardization. Performs reliability prediction
(e.g. MTBF) of the board level and requesting the reliability
information of components from manufacturers. - Works under general direction.
Required Qualifications & Background
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years experience in design development, with significant
experience with component selection. - Understanding of root cause analysis methods.
- Extensive design and component supplier experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering disciplines.
- RF experience a plus.
