Business Development Manager Sr., 09-164

Location: Washington, D.C.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with DoD, DoE and other Government customers to position EES products.
  • Interface with medium to senior level leadership within the government to introduce AV's experience and capabilities.
  • Work internally to develop strategies that will increase sales of current products and technologies as well as expand the product mix of EES.
  • Seek new Government program business, responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and coordinating resources needed to comply and compete on RFPs.
  • Accountable for new business results, developing and maintaining client/potential client and industry partner relationships, and identifying and pursuing multiple marketing opportunities.
  • Travel to meet with the customer at their location as well as participate in trade shows and industry conferences where customers are represented.
  • Develop communication plans for the customer base and oversee EES efforts to inform the customer of current programs and work closely to influence customer desire to fulfill future needs with EES products.
  • Coordinate with other Business Development Managers/Business Unit Leaders to enhance sales performance and assist with business development including briefing DoD and other government customers.
Required Qualifications & Background
  • The candidate will have a thorough understanding of government strategy, tactics and operations with 10+ years experience in Government Business Development.
  • Knowledge of Government budgets and procurement cycles required.
  • Washington DC is the primary location of the job, extensive time required in Monrovia, CA
  • Qualified candidate will posses a Bachelors Degree in technical discipline or Marketing. Masters Degree or MBA desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years Government Business Development and Marketing required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience business development or program management in a technical and manufacturing environment, preferably in the Defense or Energy related industry.
  • Must have excellent writtten and verbal skills to communicate with customers to discuss their requirements and participate and lead proposal activities.
  • Demonstrated networking capabilities among various communities, e.g. acquisition officials/leads in the Department of Defense and other government agencies.
