Contract Administrator I, 09-232

Job Duties and Responsiblities
- Under the guidance of Contract Management staff and in support of Program and Project Managers, develop, negotiate, execute, manage, maintain and close-out DOD type contracts (FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.).
- Will assist in proposal preparation in response to customer RFI, RFP's & RFQ's which may involve NDA's and cost and price analyses.
- Analyzes and evaluates RFPs and ensures responsive proposals are prepared in accordance with the RFP.
- Negotiates contract provisions including price and terms to protect the interests and obligations of the company and administrates the resulting contracts, Task/Delivery orders and/or PO's.
- Monitors contract performance to ensure cost, technical, quality and contractual objectives are being met.
- Assists in the development of solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
- Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives and goals.
- Focal point for all contractual communications including direct customer contact and interaction and commitments pertaining to assigned contracts.
- Focal point with Finance, Subcontracts, Legal Affairs, and other AV departments for resolution of disputes and problems with assigned contracts.
- Manages contract change process and works with Program Management, Engineering, Finance and other internal disciplines as required to eliminate or reduce performance risks.
Required Qualifications and Background
- Three to Four years work experience in Contracts or related field required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Legal or related field required.
- Some travel required.
- Basic knowledge of FAR, DFARS, USG procurement processes, business/procurement law and legal concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) required.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office.
- Must work with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to independently develop and execute plans to negotiate and resolve contractual matters.
- Capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.
